Laura Sommer
Owner & Doctor of Physical Therapy
Laura graduated from Northeastern University with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2011. An accomplished athlete, she was a member of the NCAA Division I Women’s Varsity Soccer Team. After experiencing injuries in her own athletic career, she fully understands what it takes to get back on the field safely.
Committed to providing other athletes with the highest possible standard of care, Laura opened In Motion Physical Therapy of NY in April of 2013. She specializes in sports medicine and takes a holistic approach to treatment and recovery for athletes.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and three young children. She has run five half marathons and enjoys exercising, reading, and traveling.
Sarah Conroy
Doctor of Physical Therapy, Titleist Performance Institute Golf Certified
Sarah earned her Bachelor of Health Science degree in 2018. In 2020, she graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. During her time at Nazareth College, she was a member of the women’s soccer team and a graduate assistant coach.
Sarah loves to travel and watch sports. She’s also a foodie and animal lover — her office is filled with pictures of her golden retriever, Henley. Sarah is TPI Level 1 Certified and enjoys working with golfers and athletes to help them perform at their best!
Samara Kelhoffer
Doctor of Physical Therapy, Pilates Instructor, and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
Samara graduated from the University of Delaware in 2021 and graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Stony Brook University Southampton in 2024. She’s a Strength and Conditioning Specialist certified in Mat Pilates and working through reformer training. In her free time, Samara enjoys trying new restaurants, going to the gym, and spending time with her three dogs!
Samantha DiTaranto
Office Manager
Sam is our friendly front desk expert! She has been working at In Motion Physical Therapy for over seven years and is ready to answer your questions and guide you through insurance concerns. She majored in psychology and graduated from SUNY Cortland in 2016.
Sam is also an NASM-certified personal trainer, corrective exercise specialist, and Masters swim coach. She enjoys swimming, running (she’s finished two half-Ironman triathlon races!), reading, and indoor rock climbing. Her Hogwarts house is Hufflepuff!
