MEET OUR STAFF

Laura Sommer, Owner and Doctor of Physical Therapy

Laura graduated from Northeastern University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2011. She was also a member of the NCAA Division I Women’s Varsity Soccer Team.  After experiencing injuries of her own, she fully understands what it takes to get back on the field safely and the importance of providing the highest standard of care possible. She opened the doors to In Motion Physical Therapy of NY in April 2013.  She specializes in sports medicine and takes holistic approach to treating all aspects of the athlete’s recovery needs. She enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 young children. She has run 5 half marathons and enjoys exercising, reading, and traveling. 


Sarah Conroy, Doctor of Physical Therapy
Titleist Performance Institute Golf Certified

Sarah received her Bachelors in Health Science in 2018 and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2020 from Nazareth College in Rochester NY. She was a member of Nazareth Women’s Soccer and a graduate assistant coach. She loves to travel, watch sports, and is a foodie. Sarah is a huge animal lover and you can come by the office to see pictures of her golden retriever Henley. She is TPI Level 1 Certified and enjoys working with golfers and athletes to help them perform their best!

Samara Kelhoffer
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Mat Pilates Instructor and Student Physical Therapist

Samara graduated from the University of Delaware in 2021 and became a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She is currently in her 3rd year of graduate school at Stony Brook University Southampton on track to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy in May. She is Mat Pilates certified and is working on her Reformer training. In her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, going to the gym and spending time with her 3 dogs!

Samantha DiTaranto, Office Manager

Sam is our friendly front desk expert! She has been working at In Motion Physical Therapy over 5 years and can help you with any questions, including any concerns with insurance. She graduated from SUNY Cortland in 2016 with a major in psychology. She is a NASM certified personal trainer, corrective exercise specialist, and Masters swim coach. She enjoys swimming, running (she’s finished 2 half ironman triathlon races!), reading, and indoor rock climbing. Her Hogwarts house is Hufflepuff!
